Parish Ministries

2020 Vision Design Committee:  Matt Costello, Chairman 
This committee plans and implements the development of the parish facilities.  Now that Emmaus Hall is completed, their next project is the parking lot lighting.

Adoration:  Faye Smith, Coordinator 
Long-term volunteers are scheduled in one-hour time blocks from 8:30am Tuesday to 7:00pm Wednesday.  You may drop in for an unscheduled visit with the Lord; please sign in and out in the binder.   Please see our Adoration web page for additional details

Acolytes:  Tim Frank, Coordinator
Fr. Andy has requested that we organize and train Confirmed men of the parish as Acolytes to serve at the altar during Mass. This will help in assisting the youth who now serve at the altar, and to increase the number of available servers. 

These men will also have the opportunity to assist in the summer months and daily Masses when we normally have trouble scheduling altar servers due to school, family vacations and travel. Acolytes will also serve as role models to the youth of our parish, showing that a person is never too old to serve our Lord.  Interested men should contact Tim Frank (321) 269-4961 or Harry Costello (321) 632-0697.

You must have received your 1st Communion to assist Fr. Andy at the altar.

Art & Environment:  Theresa Murphy, Coordinator 
The ever changing environment within the church is created by this group. If you have a green thumb we could use your talents.

Attic Shop: Co-Managers- Hank Gillooley & Rose Ryan (321) 269-1699 
The parish thrift shop has been a great service to the poor in our area and financial support for the parish. Please support them with your donations, time and purchases. Open Wed. – Sat.

Baptism Preparation:
Mandatory classes are offered a few times during the year.  Pastor approval is required.  Call the parish office to register for classes (321) 269-2282. 

Bereavement Ministry:   Nancy MacInnis, Coordinator 

Bereavement Hospitality: Norma Walker, Coordinator
This ministry supports families whose loved one has died.  Volunteers help plan the funeral Mass and the reception.

BETA (Birth, Education, Training, Acceptance): Bert Musco, Contact 
We support our local BETA chapter in their efforts to support women expecting a child.

CCD - see Religious Education

Children’s Liturgy of the Word:  Karyn Mosdell, Coordinator
School-age children are released to attend their own Liturgy of the Word during the 8:30am Mass.  The Liturgy is presented in a manner they can better understand. The children rejoin us for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.  (We need volunteers to offer this ministry.)

Council of Catholic Women:  Jenni Shoemaker, President 
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except during the summer months). J oin us for fellowship, service and prayer.

Extra Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist:  Karen Adams, Coordinator 
Pastor approval is required to assist at Mass with the distribution of the Eucharist.  Contact the parish office if you're interested in this ministry.  Special training classes are offered 1-2 times a year.

Finance Committee:  Pete Ciolfi, Chairman
The parish Finance Committee meets monthly to discuss the parish finances so we may meet our current needs and those of the future.

Fingerprinting:  Dianne Sweeney, Coordinator, (321) 269-2282 
Any person 14 or older who wishes to minister to the vulnerable population (ie. aged, infirm & children) you must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Diocese of Orlando before you can begin to minister.

First Reconciliation Preparation - see Religious Education

Guardian Angel Nursery:  Julie Pringle, Coordinator 
Babysitting is provided for children under 5 years of age during our Sunday morning religious education (October - May).  This ministry allows parents to attend adult classes or class with their school-age child.

Healing Prayer & Prayer Chain:  Phyllis Smith, Coordinator
We lift others up in prayer.  We pray for healing or your prayer petitions. A spiral notebook is located in the vestibule of the church where you may list your prayer needs.

Heart of Mary Home School:  Marguerite Chalmers, Contact 
Home schooling has its advantages and challenges.  We join together to share our resources.

Hospitality:  Coordinator is needed!
Join us for coffee & doughnuts on Sunday morning after Mass. 

Lectors:  Trudy Martell, Coordinator 
We proclaim the Scriptures during Mass.

Library:  Trudy Martell, Librarian 
We have periodicals, books, tapes, videos and DVDs available for your use. The parish library is located in the church between the main door and the chapel.

Liturgy Committee:  Trudy Martell, Chairman
This ministry is comprised of leaders from the liturgical ministries.  We meet monthly to plan the liturgical needs of the parish.

Marriage Encounter/Image:  Bill & Linda Smith, Coordinators 
Are you interested in a weekend away with your spouse?  Do you want to deepen your relationship? Have you already attended a ME weekend and are looking for other couples for fellowship and support? Then we are here for you.

Marriage Preparation: Bob & Susan Wellen, Coordinators, (321) 268-2524 
Are you planning on getting married?  A minimum of 4 months is needed for preparation and guidance.

Ministry to the Sick: June Costello, Coordinator, (321) 632-0697 
Volunteers visit and bring Communion to those who cannot attend Mass (i.e., hospital, nursing home, shut-ins).  If you're admitted to the hospital, please specify CATHOLIC on the admissions form, otherwise you cannot be visited by a Minister to the Sick (hospital policy). After discharge from the hospital, call the church office if home visits are needed there, too!

Music Ministry:  Al Paquin, Director, (321) 269-2282 
We provide music for Mass.  This ministry welcomes vocalists and musicians to join us in song prayer.  Practice sessions are held Wednesday evenings after Mass and Sunday afternoons after the 11:00am Mass.  

Outreach:  Damon & Lillie Smith, Coordinators 
This ministry assists those needing emergency and/or temporary financial support within our North Brevard community (must live north of Garden Street) .

Pantry:  Karen Hicks, Coordinator 
Our ministry distributes food to the needy on Wednesday afternoons (except the first Wednesday of the month) from 12pm to 3pm at Carpenters Hall.   Recipients must provide proof that they live north of Garden Street if they're not registered parishioners.

Parish Activities:  Dianne Sweeney, Coordinator, (321) 269-2282 
We need volunteers throughout the year for various parish events.  Events such as church cleaning crews, parish work days, office volunteers, Thanksgiving baskets, parish Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas wish tree, Seder meal, parish celebration of Pentecost, to name a few!

Parish Mission:  Mary Hughes, Coordinator 
If you hear an inspiring speaker, please share their name with us.  We try to schedule a Spiritual mission for our parish each year before Lent begins.

Pro-Life:  Barbara Grimm, Coordinator 
We support life from conception to natural death.

Puppet Ministry:  Lou & Sue Moreno, Coordinators 
This newly forming ministry is planning to provide entertaining faith centered shows for the youngest in our community.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults):  David Tipton, Coordinator 
This is the process a person follows to become a Catholic. 

Rosary Groups:  Joan Crocker, Coordinator 
A number of groups meet regularly to pray the Rosary together.

Senior Citizen Fun Group: Phyllis Smith, Coordinator
We get together monthly to have fun--usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Watch the bulletin for details.

St. Clare Altar Society:
The volunteers in this ministry collect the linens used during the Mass.  The linens must be carefully washed and ironed. 

Stewardship Committee:  Jorge Rivera , Chairman
As a parish, we tithe 10% of our offertory collection to help those in our community. This committee meets and decides how to distribute the funds.

Tape Ministry:  discontinued until further notice 
Each weekend one of the Masses is taped. These tapes are provided to those who are unable to attend Mass.  It gives them the opportunity to pray with their parish.

Teen Choir:  Director  (temporarily inactive)
The teen choir provides the song prayers for the 11am Mass on the 3rd Sunday of each month.  We welcome vocalist and musicians. Practice is held after the 11am Mass.

Ultreya/Cursillo:  Sam & Sue Lenck, Coordinators 
Have you made your Cursillo? Join our  Ultreya group. We meet the first Wednesday of the month.

Ushers:  Geri Vechionne, Coordinator 
Every week our ushers welcome us and help us.
